Being from Austin means celebrating those who make this city original. We’re always excited to be able to work with talented and creative folks like Keith Davis Young, who spent numerous hours hand drawing this bandana design. He notes that taking that the extra time creates a more meaningful product, something we couldn’t agree with more.
Keep Austin Weird isn’t just a motto around here: it’s how we live. In that spirit, we sponsored the 2016 Austin Weird Homes Tour. It wouldn't be March in Austin without SXSW Music Festival. So we teamed up with our friends at Arlyn Studios – the recording hub for Austin’s infamous music geniuses, from Willie Nelson to Gary Clark Jr and beyond – to host a party benefitting non-profit organization, Playing for Change. The end of the year brings the culmination of so much for so many. For us, it meant the beginning of something special: bottling day at 9 Banded Whiskey. For our small crew, it was all hands on deck at our bottling center in North East Austin, to finally bring Austin’s first whiskey to life. Over the course of that week we blended and bottled what felt like hundreds of cases. The first 1,000 bottles were numbered and delivered to those who have supported us along the way. Needless to say, we’re excited to get 9 Banded Whiskey out the door and into your hands in 2016.
